Nguyen Truong Son, MD, PhD Deputy Minister of Health of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Truong Son (born in January 29, 1964) has taken the position of the Deputy Minister of Heath of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam since November 2018.

Having graduated from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City in Viet Nam in 1987 as Medical Doctor, Dr. Nguyen Truong Son pursued the training of Internal Doctor specialized in Epidemiology and Public Health at Hanoi Medical University from 1982 to 1985. He obtained the Philosophy Doctor Degree in Immunology at Military Medical Academy of Viet Nam in 2001 and became Associated Professor in Medical Health in 2012.

Before joining the Ministry of Health as Vice Minister of Health of Viet Nam, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Nguyen Truong Son was the Vice Director (from 2004 to 2008), then Director (from 2008 to 2018) of Cho Ray National Hospital, one of the three biggest hospitals in Viet Nam. He is widely and respectfully known with numerous national and international medical publications and studies, especially those on organ transplantation.a is passionate about working at the intersection of business value and social value in healthcare. She has worked in global and domestic public sectors, the private sector and now a health system. Prior to joining CAMTech, Sandra spent seven years working on USAID-funded programs, including two years living in Uganda working in zoonotic outbreak mitigation and response.  More recently, Sandra moved to the private sector and worked in medication adherence in the US healthcare system followed by a public-private partnership in pandemic preparedness and vaccine manufacturing.  CAMTech brings together her previous work experience and interests focusing on sustainable healthcare solutions tailored to local contexts.
